Legal & privacy

Cookie Policy

Plain-English version: we use cookies for essentials (logins, cart) and to understand which services people care about. You can opt out of analytics and marketing in the cookie settings.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website saves on your browser to remember things between page loads — like whether you’re logged in, what’s in your cart, or which pages you’ve already seen. Some cookies are required for the site to work; others are optional and only run if you opt in. This page lists what TapasSEO uses, what each cookie does, how long it sticks around, and how to opt out.

Categories

Essential Always on

Required for the site to work. They keep you logged in, remember your cart, and protect against abuse. You can’t turn these off — without them the site breaks.

  • What they do: session management, security tokens, cart state, fraud prevention.
  • Examples: tapasseo_session, tapasseo_cart.
  • Retention: session (cleared when you close the browser) or up to 30 days for cart state.
Analytics Opt-in

Help us understand which pages and services people care about, so we know what to improve. Aggregated and pseudonymous — we don’t use these to identify individuals.

  • What they do: count visits, measure session length, record anonymous heatmaps and rage-click patterns.
  • Providers: Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity.
  • Examples: _ga, _ga_*, _clck, _clsk.
  • Retention: up to 2 years.
Marketing Opt-in

Used to measure which ad channels brought you here and to show relevant ads on other sites you visit. Off by default.

  • What they do: attribute conversions, build retargeting audiences.
  • Providers: Meta pixel, LinkedIn Insight tag, Reddit pixel.
  • Examples: _fbp, li_sugr, _rdt_uuid.
  • Retention: 90 days.

How to opt out

Three ways to manage your cookies, in order of convenience.

1. Open the TapasSEO cookie settings panel. Use this button to revisit the consent banner and change your category preferences:

If the buttons don’t respond, the cookie banner script may not be loaded. Refresh the page and try again, or use option 2 below.

2. Block cookies in your browser. Browser-level controls block cookies for every site, not just TapasSEO — some sites won’t work properly with all cookies blocked.

3. Reset your TapasSEO consent. The “Reset my consent” button above clears the saved choice. Next time you load the site, the consent banner will appear again so you can pick fresh categories.

Third parties

The optional categories load scripts from these third parties. Each has its own privacy policy that governs how the data they collect is used:

Provider Used for Privacy policy
Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager policies.google.com/privacy
Meta Conversion pixel, retargeting facebook.com/privacy/policy
Microsoft Clarity heatmaps, session recordings privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement

Updates to this policy

Last updated: 2026-04-29. We’ll bump the version when we change cookie categories; the banner will re-prompt for consent so you get a fresh chance to opt in or out.
